A little preview on my "designing a cathedral" project. The result might be a bit more monumental than usually planned. Also I rather prefer to call it a meeting place like a forum instead of using religious terms.

If you abandon the religious element, is it necessary to retain the cruciform?
I think the Latin Cross plan is a good way to go. It's not necessarily directly related to religion, just an aspect of Cathedral planning.
