The Brooklyn Museum is the second-largest art museum in New York City, and one of the largest in the United States with vast holdings ranging from the ancient to the contemporary and encompass virtually all the world's principal cultures, reflecting the institution's long history of acquiring Western and non-Western art.
In any other city of the US, this museum would be a must-see, but in New York, the Brooklyn Museum always had trouble bringing over tourists from Manhattan. But with its innovative exhibition spaces and fun collections, it is definitely a must for anyone trying to see world class art and at the same time hide away from the huge masses of tourists that overcrowd the Metropolitan every day.
