For his first exhibition in a Paris gallery, Pharrell Williams created some furniture with vibrant colors and slick surfaces reinterpreting a quite known design from a chair of the wacky 60s. The chair comes in 4 different colors.
Go check it out at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin 10 Impasse St Claude

Augusta Treverorum, or 'Trier' is the oldest city in Germany, founded in or before 16 BC. It is also one of the few cities in Europe that have been capitals of the Roman Empire. Nowadays it is quite the shopping destination for cheap goods, especially for people from Luxembourg. Shopping around here can be quite the adventure, and the locals usually stare at you for wearing fashion created after the 90s (yes, the standardized blue jeans in its baggy format still is a best buy among the 'raver' culture apparently), but that is another story. Fact is that we already left the German ground after only a few hours of presence there.
Here are a few architectural snaps from a brief excursion into the land where fashion somewhat moves, but not quite in the areas furthest away from big capitals...

The Trierer Dom is a Roman Catholic church which dates back to Roman times and is home to the Holy Tunic, a garment with a recorded history back to the 12th century, in Catholic tradition said to be the robe Jesus was wearing when he died. It is only exhibited every few decades, at irregular intervals. This may explain why the fashion sense in this city is a slight bit retro...

Good old summertimes, a heat to roast a pig inside of your fridge and tons of things to do and see! At this time of winter without any sign of a snowflake, it really seems like a good idea to bring back the nostalgia of an eventful year. Enjoy a selection of a gazillion pictures I took this summer in the city of heat and hectic lifestyles.
This one is my favorite: A toilet in front of one of the Little Mermaid musical poster... did I hear someone say "flush"?
In case you wanna see more, and specifically the Meatpacking district or just have dinner at the Four Seasons Restaurant or at the now defunct Florent diner, follow these links and leave me some love on the comment pages:
I am Cedric, discoverer of things that would go unnoticed in the streets of Paris, historic haven of fashionistas and city of lights ('lights' as in 'enlightenment', not street lights).
But seriously: I'm an expat from Luxembourg (the country, not the garden), living in the center of Paris (hence 'Paris 2nd arrondissement'), and currenlty studying architectural history...
places to go and weird stories to know about the city of lights... Improve your brain's useless knowledge parts, impress your neighbors, raise the roof, and anoy your friends with these funny facts and places
