In New York or in Paris?

This is a tricky one to guess, because one would usually assume that this beautifully sculpted doorway and the entire building would belong to 18th century Paris.
And yet, this house stands on East 71st street in New York (right opposite of the Frick Reference Library entrance). A perfectly copied 18th century Parisian hotel particulier.
