Dreamlands at Centre Pompidou

The new architecturally themed show at Beaubourg raises the question of how world's Fairs, international exhibitions, Las Vegas and theme parks have helped influence ideas on city development. Copies and facsimiles of reality through the creation of replicas show parallel worlds which have often influenced architectural and urbanistic practices of the 20th century.

The exhibition brings together more than 300 works of modern and contemporary art, architecture, films and documents drawn from numerous public and private collections. A journey from Learning from Las Vegas, passing through Delirious New York, and raising the ideals of a contemporary Dubai, blurring the barriers between imagination and reality. A must-see for the summer!

On display at the Grande Galerie at Centre Pompidou from 5 May to 9 August 2010

I am Cedric, discoverer of things that would go unnoticed in the streets of Paris, historic haven of fashionistas and city of lights ('lights' as in 'enlightenment', not street lights).
But seriously: I'm an expat from Luxembourg (the country, not the garden), living in the center of Paris (hence 'Paris 2nd arrondissement'), and currenlty studying architectural history...
